BOSTON ST PATRICK'S DAY PARADE

MARCH 15, 2009

Finally arrived at Logan Airport around noon and got to the Omni Parker House Hotel fairly quickly. The Omni House hotel staff met us at the cab, took our luggage, accompanied us to check-in and toour room while explaining the details fo the Omni House.

Headed out to the International Seafood Show After checking in, we started touring the show looking for Value-Added Products that i can handle. Need to be able to not only find the products but they have to be high-end products and I have to be able to get the product to my warehouse in reasonable quantities and shipping costs.

After an hour or so, we headed down D St towards Broadway - the starting point of the parade. It was about a mile walk. Hundreds of people wearing various amounts of green were also on their way. From about 2 or 3 blocks away you could hear the Bag Pipes from a local Fire Fighter Department. As you can see from the picture above, we couldn't get close to the street - and because my wife is so short, the picture doesn't show any of the actual Parade. One of my disappointments is that we couldn't get a beer - the bars were all packed and had $ 20 cover charges. Got text pix from son Jay at the Detroit St Pat's Parade - he was able to get beer. So we taxied back to the hotel

  1. Apparently, I posted the blog before it was ready. We actually taxied back to the hotel. The prepared plan for navigating the show floor on Monday

The highlight of the day was dinner at Mamma Maria's in North Town. Had a great appetizer of Steak Tartare with wild mushrooms and garlic followed by the best Osso Buco I've ever had.

We spent about $150 in cab fares !
